Ada, Legend of a Healer

Postby chuckcox » Tue Jul 17, 2012 2:04 pm

First let me say that I am not affiliated in any way with the people behind the book and site I am sharing with you.

I stumbled upon this site while googling an unrelated topic, but the link caught my eye because of the name. It made me think of our own ladyada, empowering yound and old to explore the world of electronics.

http://www.adaslegend.com/

I thought others might find the connection interesting.

Ladyada, you are our legend! You are healing our world of closed-source hardware. Keep up the good work.

The webmaster for http://www.adaslegend.com/ and http://www.goodbooksforteenagegirls.org/ as added adafruit to the home pages!

Here is what I sent to the webmaster when I first came accross the book:
I googled "INFP personality type" and came accross a links classifying this type as The Healer (Idealist). Among the links was a reference to this book. After clicking on it, the art caught my attention. The name Ada also caught my interest. I'm a fan of Limor Freid (http://www.adafruit.com) who goes by LadyAda in honor of Ada Lovelace.

She is an empowered 'girl' who has an engineering degree and has founded a very successful business based on the Open Hardware movement.

She is a great role model for girls who need to know that you can dream big dreams and make them happen.
