I received (2) M4 receivers and a 4 button remote today. One of the receivers seems to work, but only at a very close range <5 feet; the other receiver doesn't work at all. When LEDs are connected to the outputs of the second M4, all 4 LEDs turn on and off together, and the remote transmitter has no control. (9v supply to receiver)
I need something with a range of around 100 feet, is there anything I can do to increase the range? Any suggestions for the M4 that seems to oscillate, could it be defective, are they both defective?

The range issue and the flaky behavior sounds like the remote is at fault. Try putting fresh batteries in the remote and see if that helps. Let us know if it's still not working after that.
