Buggy Forums

Post by stinkbutt »

There's something going on in the forums. I'm seeing red threads with unread posts, but when I go to them and try to read them, I don't end up seeing any new posts. I go back to the index page, and they're still read. This even occurs when I'm skipping directly to the new posts from the index.

Didja change something on the forum in the past three days?

Those were spam posts that have been deleted. Unfortunately the "new posts" logic doesn't deal with that very well. There's been a huge number of spam posts this week, that's why you're seeing the problem more often.

Specifically this is happening right now in the Arduino Fish Tank thread. The last post I can see is the tenth one, from Thu Feb 11, 2010 11:45 pm, while there appears to be a new one posted by Fedric very recently. It's not surprising the forum's telling me it's unread, since I haven't actually read that last post.

Ah. So I'm missing spam. That's a shame. I'm really in the market for some of that BANNED BANNED...

Oh, I reported one of those BANNED spams and it got deleted. Sorry about that.

No big deal, it's hard to get excited about that.
