5m Digital RGB LED strip + Arduino + other

Post by mandavilli »

Hello, I hope I am posting to the right place. I want to get started with programming an Arduino Uno R3 to control a 5m Digital RGB LED weatherproof strip - similar to the 1m strip used in the "Digital RGB LED Strip" tutorial by Phillip Burgess. However, I am not able to find the 5m strip on your website. Please email me/post the price on this strip.

I am assuming that the "connectors" from the led strip to the Arduino are included for the 5m strip. I am also assuming that I will need the 5V 10A power supply to power the 5m strip (I will be getting the female DC power adapter).

Final question: Once I am successful in tinkering with the 5m strip, I would like to "attach" another 5m strip to the original 5m strip. Will the Uno R3 have enough memory to handle the 10m strip? Should I be looking at the Mega right now? For this 10m strip, how should I be setting up the power?

Thank you.

Are you looking for the 30 pixel/meter strips or the 60 pixel/meter strips

The 30 pixel/meter strips come in 5 meter reels with a 2 or 3-pin JST SM connector on each end and separated power/ground wires. These strips are sold by the meter! If you buy quantity 5 meters, you'll get a full reel with two connectors.

The 60 pixel/meter strips come in 4 meter reels with a 2 or 3-pin JST SM connector on each end and separated power/ground wires. These strips are sold by the meter! If you buy quantity 4 meters, you'll get a full reel with two connectors.
