Flying with Lithium Ion Polymer batteries

Post by vinceallenvince »

I checked the TSA website but found their answer kind of vague. Do you know if it's ok to carry this product on a commercial flight?

I'm headed to a hack in another state and want to make sure I don't have TSA problems. Thx!

There are some restrictions on shipping them by air, but I don't believe they are banned for carry-on. After all, there is one inside every cell-phone, and several inside every laptop. You might get some extra scrutiny at the security checkpoint, but they should allow it.

This FAA document says they are allowed - but should be protected from short circuit and damage. http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/hea ... teries.pdf
