Defective Raspberry pi replacement request

Post by kefka »

I recently purchased a raspberry pi on 4/9/2014 and when I put my formatted SD card with Kali linux in the device it has a red LED on power and flashes green randomly(no pattern). I thought it might of been my install on the SD card so I formatted it again and the same issue occurred. I have gone through several trouble shooting steps like using a different power adapter (friends pi adapter), usb cable, and four different SD cards and one SD with wheezy rather than Kali and got the same result. I have gone through every troubleshooting step I could find on this issue searching the forums here and on other sites. I tested cards as a last resort in my friends raspberry pi and they booted normally. If you could help resolve this issue I would appreciate it. The item is https://www.adafruit.com/products/1014 and the invoice number is 474614.

The green LED is an activity monitor, so flashing with no pattern is a sign of the RasPi booting and operating normally.

What output do you see on the monitor or serial console while the device is booting?

Thank you for your assistance. I thought I had already swapped out the HDMI cable and I apparently had not. Once I swapped HDMI cables the raspberry pi booted normally.
