RFID kit?

parallax and tinker.it both have nifty rfid kits
to be honest, im not a huge rfid enthusiast

I picked up a Parralax one and it works well with my arduino. But, before you spend the money, debate what use is an RFID reader only? It would be more fun if it could write.
