MiniPOV message generator

Postby magician13134 » Wed Jun 13, 2007 9:06 am

Hi, I'm writing some software to make the messages for the MiniPOV. It's not quite finished, but if there's any demand, I could finish it up in a day or two... Would anyone be interested?

Here's a screenshot...

Anyone? Oh well, I went ahead and finished it up. I'll include it here. It's stand alone, no other files needed, HOWEVER, each time you run it, it unpacks two 1kb ico files, DO NOT delete these while using the program, but feel free to delete them when you're done. Any changes that need to be made, just let me know... I'll get right on it.
Oh, and just one more request... I don't have the MiniPOV, nor do I have the money for one right now, so if (and only IF) you a) like this program, b) use it alot, and c) feel like it, then a $1 donation via paypal to magician13134@excite.com would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks everyone. Enjoy!

(And remember, if I can get a MiniPOV to test with, then I can add many more features!!!)

I really like the interface - the best I've seen out there.

I am curious why the limit to 7 characters (49 lines)? This isn't the limit of the device, right? How about a horizontal scroll bar and the ability to write more than 7 characters.

I believe it's fifty lines, isn't it? 0 - 49? I based this off of the html one... but yes, I tried adding more and it screwed up... I never thought of a scrollbar... I can try that though. I'll let you know. Thanks for the compliment!

You're right 50 (missed a line there). I'd love to see it with a scrollbar - then it would be the greatest piece of software ever written.

Until then I'll just keep making the text in groups of 50. Which is a little cumbersome, but not the end of the world.

Well, you could do it like this:
1234567
click 'Done'
89101112
and then paste those in after it

Hey! Great news! I'm back from camp and decided to put a little more work into the MiniPOV message generator! So far I have:
Added scrolling so you can have as many lines as you want!
Fixed up the "copy" function
Totally fixed the annoying move function
Replaced duplicate "q" with "r" (no one's used a lowercase r in my program yet?)
Fixed a BIG memory leak
As well as a couple more code fixes...

IF you have any more suggestions, let me know so I can add it, before officially releasing it... I was thinking maybe adding a direct to MiniPOV, so you could load your message on with the click of a button.... any ideas are appreciated!

You're right... that's really weird, I must've deleted it by accident. Anyway that link is working now, but look for a new one hopefully by Friday, I've got just a couple more bugs to work out.

Yay! I finished up the MiniPOV Message Generator version 2.0! Some features I added today are:
Line numbers (on left and right of window)
'Go To' function (click a line number)
Redid a few message boxes
Made sure text can start wherever you want it to
Several bug fixes (just stupid things on my part)

Uh... that's about it. Please let me know if you find any bugs... Ok? Thanks very much!
