Hello

If I will replace the regular leds with simple laser diodes... the minipov work ?
It will write laser messages ?

That depends how much current each laser requires. If I recall correctly, each IO pin on the attiny can only source 40 mA.

Would this part be a viable replacement for the LEDs in the minipov3?

Not if you plan to use the original MiniPOV PCB, as those diodes are 6mm wide, they won't fit. (not to mention they have three pins, you'd either have to do some drilling or some clipping)

With strictly limited input current, would it be necessary to monitor the PD output? And, regarding the size, I think with a little wiggling and utilization of the LED legs you could get the 8*5.6mm to spread out linearly above the 8*5mm design layout, assuming you stick to the kit PCB (the single sided PCB posted elsewhere has more room to spread the LEDs out, I think?)

Also keep in mind that those laser diodes don't produce a straight beam. You would need a collimating lens and some type of enclosure, as in this module.
