MiniPOV3 Kit Programming Issue

Post by bman22 »

I Just finished putting together my MiniPOV3 Kit, and im having issues programming it. I am running the linux distro OpenSuSE, and since i had my serial ports disabled, and was to lazy to turn them on when i finished, i set it up with my usb adaper. The MiniPOV itself seems to be fine, it works with all of the preprogrammed code, but whenever i try using the code for "Happy New Year!" it doesn't do anything. It doesn't even turn on. I tried shortening it down to Happy, and that worked fine, but not the whole thing. I checked and its 97 lines long, which is far under the said 250 that it can do. Any clue as to why this specific code will not work?

not without seeing it.

and maybe the compiler messages.

of course, it's a little late, now.

I had this problem, too, and largeimage.c worked after I found this thread. It would be awesome if there were a note in programming.html (where you write that it can hold a message up to 500 lines) or a comment in mypov.c (where one would see it when first customizing the pattern). It would save an occasional person a good chunk of diagnosis time.

Other than that, nice, fun kit. Thanks!
