Thanks, Limor!

Well, the smaller aluminum ones are from Jameco, they're like $1.20 each. Just a warning though, their finish is not so great and out of the bunch of 20 that I purchased, about half of them had tool marks twirled into the tops of them (forming circles or rings). So to make them look good, you'll need to hand-finish them. I originally clearcoated them, which looked nice, but didn't match the larger knobs very well. Oh they come in black anodized too, but I'd be doubtful of that finish if I were you.

Now, the larger ones...Unfortunately for all of you, one of my friends gave me about a dozen of these knobs a couple of years ago. They're also aluminum, and of very high quality. However, they used to be 1/4" taller than they are now, which has prevented me from using them on any of my projects; they were just too long! My dad has a machining business, and he was able to mill off 1/4" from the tops of them for me.

I'm sure similar ones exist out there somewhere though...

Oh yeah, feel free to use any of my x0x pics, by the way...not just the "synthporn" one

Looks like you've got some extensive mods installed, what are they all? Those cyan LEDs look great!

There are more switches on it then there are actual completed mods.
They are all beside the main PCB, so I can wire them in wherever I choose easily.
The switches on the left panel are all toggles + one push button.
The switches on the right are multi-pole combination toggles + momentary switches for performance triggering (+ one push button).
I have completed the following mods:
1) Bass cutoff range increase
2) power supply load-down (POT on back of unit)
3) On-off switch on back panel
4) Momentary switch for holding notes indefinitely
5) Momentary switch for select cut-off resistance (great rhythmic results)
6) Momentary switch for select resonance resistance (same great rhythmic possibilities)
7) Momentary switch for select Env-mod resistance (great for crazy growling bass modulations)
8) Huge super-ultra-bright LED for the tempo strobe (Drilled out and beveled hole in panel)
9) Toggle for tempo strobe LED intensity (so I don’t get blinded when working in front of the box)
10) Green LEDs for the sequencer (dimmer green on the 4/4) LEDs sit below the surface of panel and when lit have a halo effect in the hole.
11) White LEDs for the keyboard note buttons + all white button caps.
12) Slightly brighter white LEDs for the octave shift buttons
14) Green LED for the start stop button + white button cap
15) Blue LEDs for the Next, Prev and Chain buttons
16) Red (original in kit) LED for the done button + red button cap
17) Special Blue, oval Cat-eye LEDs for the R A S buttons + grey button caps (had to trim holes in panel to fit)
I plan on more. Like the slide timing mod. I have the POT and will mount in off the side of the box + will wire it to a bypass toggle. Maybe a momentary too.
I have played and sampled some great loops with the momentary toggles. They are great for making these crazy, very alive feeling bass + lead lines. Makes people go Hmmmmmmmmm????? How did he do that on a TB-303.
Previous to the toggles, I was twisting the heck out of the pots and would surly be replacing them often (though it is a smoother transition effect, so I still do that too). There are already wear rings on the metal surrounding the POTs.
My computer is sitting dormant. Now that I have tasted analog, I can’t go back. It is tragic. I find myself Looking for analog drum machines and other synths now.
Cheers :)

Woked the first time, took about 12 hours over 3 days. The only exception is the rotary encoder, i will replace it soon.

seems to be OK , but I either don't understand the tempo dial or it's not working, will report back later , but this is a fun one

completed mine about 3 days after getting it and a few misinserted parts.. it seems to work well. except it refuses to be seen by the software over the USB.. has anyone made any more headway with that issue?

#211 is alive & well:

Image

Mods I did (Internal):
- PSU (makes no difference)
- high beta transistors
- Cutoff down to zero

(External):
- VCO out + VCF in
- Env Mod Range 0 - 3x
- Accent Boost
- Accent Decay (incorrectly labelled)
- Slide Timing adjust
- Jonnay's 'Bunny Crunch' Distortion
- bcbox's overdrive distortion
- bass boost
- gate on forever
- devilfish-like overdrive
- resonance boost (5k resistor + 5k pot for R97)
- Filter Modulation (VCO), waveform selection using on-off-on switch
- Filter Modulation (VCA)

Putting all these in actually took quite a long time, but was well worth it; many thanks to Limor for such a great kit!
