OK, this looks good (as far as I can tell) - with one exception:exagonal wrote:voltage on socket are :
1. 5.33
2. 5.33
4. 2.50
6. 5.00
7. 5.00
9. 11.80
R126 : One side 5.33 ( directly connected at the relative power lines )
Other side 5.32 ( to R124 and R125 )
I believe this should be 0 volts. Can you measure if this voltage changes when you play a note? This is the control voltage from the volume envelope.4. 2.50

Re: No sound on outputs (x0xsh0p.de kit)
There are news .... I made some measurements of the resistance between PIN5 and PIN8 of BA6110, and I get an infinite value, then it's probably broken even this chip. I wanted to try the previous chip, that's the original come with the rest of the kit, and now everything works magically (no short in the line of 12 Volt) but the sound comes quite low ... it feels a lot lower but is still too low

yes, now check this values...but let me tell you that now ( with old BA6110 ) at MIXOUT the sound is low but continuos, like there's no VCA ! ( or it still always open )

now the voltage of the PIN4 of the BA6110 socket without it, show an instable value of about 1.00 Volt, that drop down at 0.90 to quickly rise at 1 V when a button is press...

Those two things are probably related. Normally the voltage at pin 4 should be zero; and when playing a note it should go to about 1 Volt. So if there is 1 Volt all the time the VCA will indeed always be open. That the voltage drops a little bit when playing a note is also not what should happen.exagonal wrote:yes, now check this values...but let me tell you that now ( with old BA6110 ) at MIXOUT the sound is low but continuos, like there's no VCA ! Please measure the situation on the cathode of D27.

Re: No sound on outputs (x0xsh0p.de kit)
I try to take the voltage values of D27 catode in keyboard mode, first without BA6110 in the socket, then whit in...there's a 0 Volt in this point but each time i press a note button, there's a rise of voltage from 0 to 0.54 ( for what it may reveal my multimeter )

That's good. Now let's move on a bit further: What's the behaviour of the collector of Q4 (that's the middle leg)? Again, with and without note button.exagonal wrote:I try to take the voltage values of D27 catode in keyboard mode, first without BA6110 in the socket, then whit in...there's a 0 Volt in this point but each time i press a note button, there's a rise of voltage from 0 to 0.54 ( for what it may reveal my multimeter )

with or without the BA6110 insert in the board?

You may want to try both.

Re: No sound on outputs (x0xsh0p.de kit)
Sorry, i have a little problems with the multimeter i've broken a connector...with the chip, this point show 11.38 V that drop down to 11.30 V when the button is press...now try to take the other measure, without the 6110...i'm a little slow for the incovenient

Re: No sound on outputs (x0xsh0p.de kit)
The behavior is exactly the same, with or without chip...11.38 in standby and 11.30 with the press of a note button...i'm searching for a new tip to sobstitute the broken one...

Yes, the control signal up to this point looks ok.
Maybe both BA6110'S were bad (in different ways). I'll test a few more things later, stay tuned.

ok thenk you very much for the help! When I bought the new 6110 I hoped to solve the problem but obviously I have to sweat a little longer to enjoy my new toy ...

Re: No sound on outputs (x0xsh0p.de kit)
Another thing...i make some test with MIDI INPUT...seems just a problem with BA6110 or otherwise relating to the VCA section, observing the behavior of the audio that can i hear at the MIX output, that is extremely low, but with a lot of clicks and noises, and also the sound never closes as anticipated ...
