How it work? 25lb22-g

Dear X0xb0xer,

I would like to know how work the rotary encoder 25lb22-g

For example if the commun is high (+5v) and the selector is in position 1
=> output 1 is LOW
=> output 2 is LOW
=>output 3 is LOW
=> output 4 is LOW

other example
f the commun is high (+5v) and the selector is in position 5
=> output 1 is LOW
=> output 2 is LOW
=>output 3 is HIGH
=> output 4 is LOW

is it right?

i'd guess it's binary-like

0 - 0 0 0 0 (that's what you called position 1)
1 - 1 0 0 0
2 - 0 1 0 0
3 - 1 1 0 0
4 - 0 0 1 0 (that's what you called position 5)
5 - 1 0 1 0
6 - 0 1 1 0
.... and so on

It means that i can put the common on 5v and just check the out with my Uc, is it?

because i asked Grayhill and nobody answer me.
