I have a x0xb0x here that has a main board v1.5, which is weird because adafruit main board is v1.0
They're usually sold on a small scale (ebay, forums). And I found one site of a retailer http://www.x0xconcept.fr
They use slightly different parts compared to a regular x0xb0x. Some parts are nicer (e.g.: light gray button caps from a chinese manufacturer), though not necessarily better.
Overall build quality is kinda ok though.
The main difference I can see on the pcb is that the eeprom also has an SMD footprint. Dunno why, perhaps its cheaper to use smd eeprom.
I have not yet compared to a TT or Mode Machines x0xb0x, although they may be "related" or even identical.
I'd love to know more about these, where they come from, etc..
Also I experienced something weird with one, it does not take an atmega 162 cpu I pulled from a normal x0x.. I'm quite clueless as to what is the issue there and still investigating. (edit: fixed by lowering the brownout detection fuse on the cpu, weird.)
Since last year they're showing up here and there. Kits and prebuilt.x0xb0x main board v1.5
