Scoping resonance pot, possible problems...

Post by computer controlled »

I am at the point of scoping out the VCO and the Reso pot of the VCF. I am not seeing the resonance peaks when resonance is turned all the way up. here are a couple pics:

This pic is of the raw VCO square wave. As you can see, this is fine.

Now here it is temp routed through the VCF with Cutoff and Resonance all the way, as directed.

As you can, no peaks. I am waiting on going any further in the build until i know if this is nothing to worry about. The next step is to start soldering the x0xi0 custom PCB over top of the stock PCB. And i don't want to desolder this thing if i don't need to!

This doesn't look as if there is Resonance present. Where exactly are you measuring?

This is definitely something that should be sorted out before continuing with the build.

This is an x0xi0 build, not a stock x0xb0x build. I'm measuring off of Pin 3 of the resonance pot. When listening to the sound from the direct VCF output jack on the back, the resonance pot sound more like another cutoff adjustment. Weird.
