Hum

Post by kotlinski »

Hi all,

I assembled my x0xb0x and everything seems to work perfectly fine. However there is a noticeable hum from audio outs, even when I only have power and headphone connected. It seems to decrease when I lift and move the main board a bit away from the I/O board... I wonder if this is normal and I should just try to cut down the cable lengths a bit further so they pick up less interference (some cables are longer than needed) or if I should start looking for some short with ground, or something else?

Another note: when power + headphone is connected, annoying headphone hum is there. But when I also connect mixer to mixout, headphone noise disappears... what to make of that?

All the best
Johan

Solved my problem by simply reheating suspicious looking solder joints in headphone section :)
