Hi guys.
Ive just finished building a x0x, all is great, sound as it should.
The one thing is the accent notes are overdriving.
I have a lot of headroom and still it's overdriving.
If I lower the vol pot to about 75%-80% the overdrive is gone.
This is very strange, the sound card miters dosnt show the cliping if there is any, it shows about -16db with accent fully clock wise.
I really don't recall this behevier, any chance you guys can check with your x0x's?
Much appreciate.
Cheers,
Isak E.

Re: Accent notes are overdriving/cliping
record it
the x0x has an asymetrical clipping somewhere in the VCA or mixer (i forgot) which clips the sawtooth's bottom edge (which is actually the top edge but gets inverted in the VCA)

Re: Accent notes are overdriving/cliping
well, this is normal behaviour
unless it's extremely severe (doesn't looks like so from that screenshot) it doesn't require anything
if you don't want to get the clipping - you can mod it
the easiest way would be to just weaken the signal before the mixer (or VCA) or to make the gain lower

Yes your right.
But yet again... strange, the vca/mixer act like a limiter, maybe we can increase the thrashold
I really don't remember this behavior before, or didn't pay attantion to this.
