I think I've found a problem with the VCA..

Post by moogah »

I'm working on assembling #141 as we speak. I've been having trouble with the VCA and while tracing the signal I've found that it dissapears on the 'backside' or exposed side of R121. While triple checking my connections and components I noticed that the layout is slightly different that is pictured in the manual. On my board pin 3 of IC15A gets looped back over the top to pin 1 of IC15B where in the pic pin 3 appears to connect to pin 2 of 15B while pin 2 connects to pin 1 etc. Looking over the schematic to find an explanation I was breifly relieved to see that pins 1 and 3 were tied together, so I went back to the board to find this connection. Now, here is what I find hard to believe. Pin 3 of IC15B is connected to the ground plane, directly, and has no other connections. Now, looking closely at the schem(mainboard_beta.png) it seems a bit unclear which pin is which, could someone please clarify this for me?

Did you ever figure out what was going on here? Get your VCA working?
