Best way to change potentiometer?

Post by pich »

Two of my potentiometers have become wobbly and they need replacing soon but what's the easiest way to change them as they have those securing lugs that hold it to the pcb? I thought maybe snipping it off then removing the left over metal by desoldering them individually?
Cheers

cut off all the legs, remove the pot, desolder the bits one at a time, clean up with braid. DONT try to take it all off at once, it's going in the trash anyway so dont risk messing up the board

they are generic snap in pots. You will probably have to trim the height so get plastic shaft ones. Farnell or Tayda would be good places to start looking
