LFO

Post by isak »

hi x0xers

is it possible to add an LFO to the x0x with one sine lets say..mm.. Sine or triangle..? and to make it with an LFO rate?

thanks, Isak.

This would be fairly easy to do, there are heaps of LFO circuits out there, they are usually triangle/square wave occillators, e.g., check out the 'function generator on page 9, in the National App notes here:

http://www.national.com/an/AN/AN-31.pdf

You can make an LFO with just a Quad Op-Amp (LM324 / LF347 etc.), 2 amps for the Triangle /Square wave generators and 2 more for the voltage follower / output buffers.

here is a working triangle LFO: http://www.massmind.org/images/www/hobb ... _ckt16.htm

The bigger the capacitor (C1) is the lower the frequency will be.

For anyone else interested, the AN-31 is a 'classic' application note from National which shows a lot of useful types of 'fundamental' Op-Amp designs.

Also it may be easier to make an LFO with a LM555 Timer, as you can easily just use the one power rail in the x0x.

Look on Google etc. for '555 oscillator'.
