the SyncUnitDC generates shuffle by adding assymetry to the pulses, unlike the shuffle in the hardware, which just counts 7/5 pulses instead of 6/6
please annto.. software is no argument..we want to play live on stage with this things...
i modified my 606 and 808 with shuffle and its great.. i havent done it with the 303 because i want to keep it unaltered.. but i would like to have a shuffled 303...
i agree that a 303 dont needs shuffle so badly as a drummachine but when we have a new cpu why not having propper shuffle? its defently a plus...
and to do shuffle with clock pulse counts is a too rough and primitiv algorythm..
basicaly in a shuffle every second not of a 16th is delayed..that delay has to be set on the 16th trigger/gate.. not on the clock ticks itself...
by delaying clock ticks you cant realize good shuffles because you will have overlaps with the folowing clock ticks
In a new os the clocking should be the first what is implemented..regardless how that is done in the actual os it should rather follow examples like the akai mpc 3000..
so all the the syncing ..the reaktion on start BANNED.. should be high end ..
would be nice if the xox box would be a machine very everything is done wright or better..
ther is no machine in the market that allows to do clockshifts...
what is 30 years after the introduktion of theese kind of sequencer systems a bit lame..
external hardware allows to compensate for this missing features... but actually it would be nicer if the machines could handle it.. its actually a bit lame that 1,5 k electron machinedrums cant send midi clock while beeing in slave mode...what a BANNED company...
however.. when the xoxbox would get an os that has propper clocking with all this extra features nobody ever dared to implement..but which would be great helpers on stage and in the studio...
Maybe the other equipment manufactors would have to follow ...
sorry for beeing a bit of topic.. but it really pisses me off that none of all my modern expensiv machines like nord g2 and elektron or electribes is able to just pass an incomming clock..
i guess thats because when the developers finaly have reached the point that the might see that this could come in handy..the os is so developed allready that passing the clock on top of everything what is going on just would screw the clock timing badly...
So i opt for thinking about the clocking first when writig a new os.. an connect all other features like sequencers and shuffles and ..and and.. on top of that...
so the frst task the processor has to do is to watch for incoming clocks and start commands and deal with them like passing them to the out converting them to 16th or triolic sub clocks..apling shuffle and an fine adjustable offset delay to them.. and use that to read out the the actual gate and pitch sequencer memorys
