if you are using an external cv
then you wont need exactly 5.333v
you can just retune it for 5v
your saying that if im using an external CV it does not matter if the vco will get 5.33v or 5v?
If yes...i will not need any component beside 7805?

Thanks for the lm137 schem

Guest,

I have a question about the trimmers on the 2VCO.
If Im using external CV do I still need the trimmers to adjust something?

Another Q..
If I use 6V in the 2VCO instead of 5V will it give me 6 octaves?

you still need trimmers for the vco to put into tune

and 6v control voltage in will get you another octave
but at some point it will stop being linear

What does it means?
Does it means that in some point in the middle of the octave some notes will be off tune?

guest: wouldn't changing to a "better" opamp fix this and give propper 6 octaves still?
it worked in my x0x (and thanks for that again, guest) :D

you can keep going up in octaves
and a 6th octave wont be a problem
but you cant just keep going up indefinitely

the better opamp is required
if you start going out of the range of what your opamp can do
for example
the one on the x0x cant go all the way down to ground

Thanks for explaining.

Antto,

What op amp you used?
Is it have the pin out as the 6562?
Do I need to add some extra parts?

isak: it's the same pin-out
i only recommend putting a socket for IC11
Image
TS272CN but there can be better ones, i tested what opamps i had, this was my choice (far better than the 6562)

Can I use 358 instead?
Will it be "better" op amp then 6562 for the 6 octave matter?

the opamp i used has the same pinout as many other 8-pin dual opamps
i had these opamps because i was playing around trying to make distortion effects and stuff
LM358
LM833
TS272

LM833 worked best for my distortion's power supply (buffered ground)
but TS272 was best in IC11 for the x0x

really, put a socket there and try different opamps, i can't say which is better
as far as i know, you need an opamp which can go as close to 0V as possible

Hi Antto :)

Your remember this thread?
Well, didn't tried it yet.
Do you by any chance have a spare TS272 I can buy from you?
Be more then happy if you do.
Q..
If the TS272 increases the octave range up, does increas the range for low octave as well?
If yes, what will be the max low range?

Cheers.
