Hi,
I want to know if it is possible to add an analog external clock in to the x0xb0x so I can sync it with my Roland Cr-78 form its trigger out. If it is possible does anyone know how?
Thanks!

Re: External Clock In
the dinsync is essentially a clock in
although its at a higher rate

Thank you for the reply.
Can I go from clock out jack from the Cr-78 to Din sync? Is there any schematics on how to do this?
Thanks!

Re: External Clock In
hi,
there's a guy called Florian Anwander from germany, he has made a Din Sync clock out for the CR-78.
http://fa.utfs.org/diy/rolandcr78/cr78_ ... index.html
another solution is made by Michael Kukat from germany, he has made a complete MIDI solution for the CR-78.
imho the better solution because it makes your CR more flexible in a modern setup
you can check this: https://github.com/MusicMiK/MIDItriggs

Re: External Clock In
Thanks for the reply.
I don't really want to modify the Cr-78 in anyway, this is partly due to the fact that I only partially own it and even if it was fully mine I wouldn't want to mod it.
What I was really hoping to do is modify the x0xb0x or make a clock out to Din sync cable.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Re: External Clock In
ah, okay... I understand your point very well.
there's a programmer from CHD which provides clock and MIDI and can be connected via cables into the existing jacks on the CR, so you don't have to modify your machine in any way.
http://www.chd-el.cz/index.php?id=435&lngid=en
but this could be a bit expensive.
maybe you can get a used one on ebay?

Re: External Clock In
Thanks, but I'm really looking for more of a DIY solution, and something that is not just specific to the CR-78 as I have a bunch of other drum machines with a trigger out that I'd like to use with the x0xb0x.

Re: External Clock In
the difficulty with any trigger based system
is that the x0x does a bunch of stuff
at subintervals of the bpm
there are 2 ways around this
first is to use a PLL or microcontroller
to recreate pulses at the subinterval
second is to change how the x0x behaves
i dont know too much about the cr78
but it looks like it takes a clock in
you could slave it to the x0x maybe

Re: External Clock In
I recently found out that the x0xb0x can sync with the DR-110 if the sync24 mod is implemented. If the Dr-110 can act as the master and the x0xb0x the slave than I can sync all my equipment through there.
Does anyone know if the Dr-110 can as as the master?
Thanks!

I think you have seen my youtube video?
the DR-110 can only be used as slave with the Din Sync modification.

Yes, I saw it on youtube! Great job!
That's annoying, it would be great if the x0xb0x would act as a slave when using DIN sync.

Re: External Clock In
the CR-78 runs off 12ppq @ 5V, so it's not easy to find any very cheap solution.
maybe you should check this: http://www.rv0.be/sudc.html

Re: External Clock In
I was only using the CR-78 as an example, but I have a bunch of other drum machine that output different clock signals and I also have a clock divider so clock signals aren't really an issue. I it would be really great if the x0xb0x would slave, but this is seems to be an issue when using a "non-midi" stet-up.
