Final version MarOS1.4 and updated doc you`ll find in the first post.
MarOS1.4 - 12/7/2012 - Changes since version 1.3
- Automatic Variations: In parameter adjustment mode, Press C KEY to adjust which
repetition of the current pattern is allowed to get variated. LED 4 means: 3 times no
vari, 1 time with variation. Press the D-KEY or E-KEY to adjust the first, resp. the last
step within the pattern that is allowed to be changed.
- Current swing is aplied to Din Sync and MIDI clock output.
- Gate Length adjustment range works for triplet/half tempo/both
- Randomizer: F KEY 1st press: last action undo, 2nd press: revert pattern as stored,
quick double press: revert to default "da-da-da..."
- Randomizer: NEXT KEY to randomize pattern-end-step/pattern length
- MIDI clock / Din Sync slave modes: tempo for swing is calculated from clock inputs, so
swing amount is exactly right even if internal tempo is set to 20 or 250.
- Randomizer Keys have moved around a bit
- Internal tempo is not saved on eeprom when turning tempo knob, so less timing problems
while changing tempo. Is saved each time a pattern is stored instead.
- Optional fix for MIDI sync mode. In parameter adjustment mode press A#-KEY to turn
on/off the fix. If turned on, the box reacts quicker to the MIDI start signal, if off,
it`s sometimes late one clock/pulse. The fix is copied from Omsk411`s firmware and known
to be helpfull for some environments, but not all. The state is stored on the eeprom to
be there "the next day".
- Features removed to get space in memory: Change patterns by MIDI Program Change command
(Use notes instead!); Dump patterns by MIDI sysEx (use conbox instead!).
Have fun,
Mario

Just tested it, and it's really great. "Parameter Adjust Mode" is awesome.
Thanks a lot for this firmware.

This is so amazing. Years after x0xb0x started, the firmware is STILL being improved
But only a few downloads? People just aren't reading the forums and keeping up to date. We have to find a way to tell the user base about this.

Re: MarOS1.4 - "Official" Version 1.4
well... it`s conceptionelly not really correct to have these things stored per pattern. Cause a pattern is a pattern and you may use it that way or the other way. I guess you`d still prefer to have it that "incorrect" way, for example to have something set up for playing live, and I see the point. But for me that would be more annyoing. How this normally would be handled is "patches", that combine parameters with pattern data and are stored. But there`s no bytes for such like.mario1089 wrote:

Re: MarOS1.4 - "Official" Version 1.4
Hi Mario
Thanks for the Pro firmware, i'm still using 1.4 currently because I need sync capabilities.
I noticed there is still a bug in 1.4 and possibly Pro (havent tested pro yet).
Anything you do in edit mode doesn't save if you enter edit mode while the sequencer is running.
You have to stop the sequencer, then enter edit mode, only then will changes actually save.
I do this a lot and have lost quite a few patterns because of this bug
Any chance of a fix?

Re: MarOS1.4 - "Official" Version 1.4
First: did I break it? was it working in sokkOS?
Then: I always thought to get anything saved, one has to hit DONE, select pattern/bank number, hit DONE again. Is it supposed to save edits automatically? Does it ever do that?

Or hit DONE twice to store to active pattern position.mario1089 wrote:First: did I break it? was it working in sokkOS?

Re: MarOS1.4 - "Official" Version 1.4
Yeah, it was always fine in Sokkos.
I always save by double tapping done, or done>selectbank>done if im saving to another bank.
It acts as if it saves, but when you switch back to pattern mode it reverts back to how it was before you edited it.

I see you reported that before, I remember. I could not repro back then, but I will have another look, maybe I did no test with going to edit mode while seq. is running. I`ll let you know.

I believe the only way is to stop the sequencer, select new pattern, then run the sequencer again.how to change pattern when in edit mode, standalone?
