Accent to VCA - reduce effect with knob?

Post by mario1089 »

So now after weeks of playing with my "303", I pretty much understand how much it is all about the slides and the accents.. I found that I love how the accent affects the Cutoff, Reso (with accent-reso-mod, which is a MUST HAVE in my eyes!) and Decay, but to be honest, I do not like too much how it increase the level of the notes, at least for high accent levels. Effectively I need a hard compressor always to compensate for the effect.

So a question: Does anyone know how to adjust how much the accent increases the VCA level? I may be enough to turn that off completely, but of course I wouldnt mind having a pot..

i think.. R119 would do it
i'd socket it
if you need to adjust it, maybe a 1M pot with 47K resistor in series

Cool, thank you! I`ll definitively give that a try!

Do you also use and love that accent-to-more-reso mod?

haven't even heard of such a mod
normally, the accent doesn't affect the resonance in any way

hmm, it`s told to be what I said, but I`m not sure, maybe its just accent-cutoff?

resonance accent increase

short out r46 to increase the resonance accent.

anyways, it`s a hot thing in my eyes. subtle but very 303-ish.. If you don`t know Ill prepare a demo. let me know.

shorting out r46 would affect the accent "wow" to the filter cutoff (would increase it, and maybe change the time constant on C13) but doesn't have anything to do with the filter resonance
