nonxox problems

Post by 3phase »

hi,

since i installed the cpu upgrade and nonxox ive a much higher cpu bleed thru on the audio. i also hear the incoming midi clocks and controler data.
Anybody else experiencing such changes? or do i have a bad ground connection now somwhere in my xox?
With the quicksilver os for the real 303 there was once a similar problem that was caused by a too high scan rate for the leds..
Are there other os that run on the bigger cpu so one can try if the issue is soft or hardware based?

there's sokkos2 ported for the cpumod, you can test that
http://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.ph ... 70#p215468
the ".hex.syx.zip" file should be the 2561 version

what resistor values are you using on the LEDs?

Another problem is that the nonxox dont works with my sync shifter box together very well. still investigating where the problem is, but it sometimes dont starts again. Sofar in my setup the only machine that shows this phenomen..but only when beeing connected to the sync shifter.. So a prblem with the way the sync shifter handles midi start..but one the other machines dont run into.. What could that be?

there's a bug fix in the latest version related to failing to start after a stop, it happens only when the x0x is slaved via MIDISync, and with DAWs or other master devices which stop sending MIDI_CLOCK messages while stopped (you'll notice this if the TEMPO LED stops blinking, it shoudn't)

"Changed: Added handling of MIDI_START to override any unhandled MIDI_STOP, this happens with some stupid DAWs which don't send MIDI_CLOCKs while stopped."

i'm not sure which OS you call standard

there are 3 firmwares (at least to my knowlage) which run on the cpumod
1) x0xb0x2.hex (which is the stock firmware v1.05, ported by guest)
2) sokkos2561
3) n0nx0x2

@3phase
your sync issue is due to DAW not following midi standards. however, the problem is fixed in latest firmware. Just update it.

Also, I doubt the bleedthrough issue is related to the x0xlarge or the firmware. Could be, but I doubt it, I haven't noticed anything like it. Check if it changes if you unplug usb and/or sync cable.
