Re: anybody has a battery powered xox
Maybe someone know how to do this 8-battery speaker mod with some more information.
Well, the converter which the guy uses ist the dual output DC-DC converter "NMA0515S" ...here's the data sheet with all necessary information:
http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/datashe ... A0512S.pdf
Input power: 5V & 12V
Output power: 5V,9V,12V and 15V
If i take a look on the NMA0515S with the soldered cables form this guys homepage i figure out he soldered the following:
Pin 1 Vin (red cable)
Pin 2 GND (black cable)
Pin 5 0V (black cable)
Pin 6 +V (red cable)
So...someone knows what he does? Maybe he feeds this thing with only 4 out of 8 batteries 4 x 1,2V = 4,8V and not with 5V from the power supply?

Re: anybody has a battery powered xox
If nobody figure out how to do this i'll let you know that with a little help from my friends i'll do this mod later this year for the second x0x after i finished my first one.
With some things i was wrong, but what i know is that the dc/dc converter is powered from the 7805 with 5v giving us the needed 15v. Some things have to be changed on the boardlayout but not too much. This would be an excellent addition for the next x0xb0x i/o board revision.
