It Works!

Post by Jaywar »

:D Woo Hoo! It works! I can't wait to start using this thing. So, how long do you think it will be until you release the version of MIDIsense that works with Piezo discs? I'm badly in need of one soon. Thanks again for a great project!

I've got mine up and running with one sensor (LDR + laser pointer).

I may have to rethink my plans for it, though, as the highest scan rate (40Hz) is still really too slow for triggering applications. It's fun, but it's just too easy to miss a state change in the void between samples.

you can hack the firmware to change the rate (just reduce the oversampling rate). i just figured 40hz was plenty, but ill think about it..

Yeah, when you think about it as a variable latency between 0 and 25ms that impacts both note on and note off, that gives you an idea of how painful it would be to play.

I'm not upset, I just figured user feedback is a good thing.

Thanks for the note about the firmware, though I don't really have time to go digging that deep ATM.

Maybe you *did*. It works much better with the right R values in place as per your post re: the silkscreen typo.

Still, it's worth double-checking that you implemented the note on/off sauce...
