Error "Failed to find any MIDIsense Boards"

Post by billm37 »

Hardware seems to be fine. All the right lights flash. My USB Midi lights are flashing as well as the "I am alive" lights on the board. Suggestions as to what to check would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Bill

make sure you have the drivers for your usb module installed. in the "port menu", what shows up?

It shows what it should -- the M-Audio's "Out USB 1x1" and "In USB 1x1"

I put a sniffer on the output of the MIDIsense and it is transmitting "B1 13 02" so I know it is alive.

I have also loaded the MIDIsense software on two computers and the error message is the same.

Many thanks for you time and help.

bizaare! ok. well, hmm. are you using the mac or windows software? when you search for boards, do you see the bicolor LED light up orange? its green when sending stuff and orange when its receiving stuff so that will help you debug.

I am using the Windows software. The bicolor LED stays flashing green.

A couple of questions?

What should be the configuration of the switches on the board?

Any suggestions on how to test the software on the computer?

Many thanks in advance for the help.

hmm one thing i just remembered, i have to update the instructions, the two resistors in the top right corner might be swapped. make sure the 1.5K is going to the LED and the 220 ohm is going to the MIDI i think its R3 and R6. i had them messed up before and fixed them in the latest rev.
