to make a sharp GPD120 work with MIDISENSE.

Post by nym »

sorry to drag this conversation from the other thread but i feel like it deserves its own big bad post.

ladyada, i'm dying to know - how can we make this sensor work in Midisense? there must be a way to do it. i and others already have a couple of these IR sensors and personally i'd be willing to experiment but this would really really help me out.

This sensor takes a continuous distance reading and returns a corresponding analog voltage with a range of 4cm (1.6") to 30cm (12"). The sensor package includes a JST 3-pin connector, three pre-crimped wires, and a booklet with detailed information and examples.

how can we make this work?

thank you. discussion should follow on use and implementation of MIDISENSE and Sharp GPD12 or GPD120 sensors (difference in range length)

meanwhile i'm going to start a new thread about the ADIO board. i have a few questions about it but regardless of the answers i am going to buy it. thank you so much for your quick response, i can't explain how excited this makes me.

this is going to be huge for me educationally and professionally, as i begin to craft my own midi controllers from your kit and implement them in interesting ways with my software and hardware.
