Complete DIY, ok with solderind, but Question about frimware

Post by anons111 »

Hi!
Trying to build MIDIsense (adio).

I read many times pages about MIDIsense.

Please tell me steps for programming ATMEGA168.

I burn many PIC chips and i have soft, programmer.

I've read that MIDIsense supports Firmware upgrade through MIDI port.

SO, i think i need a bootloader for mega168?

I want to burn (new and clean) chip by ISP using my STK200/300 programmer and i have everything i need.

in CVS repo i found bootloader for Atmega168 - bootloader168.hex
midisense-adio.hex
midisense-adio.eep

and i have midisense-adiov1.3.hex from site.......

I think if i burn loader, than i can upload firmware through MIDI?

how about EEP file?

.....
1. I can burn bootloader168.hex by my programmer - than upload through MIDI v1.3hex
BUT: i dont know FUSES...
(0xFF-0xd4-0xF9 probably? - boot reset vector and flash=512 - what does it mean)
its workable method?

2. I can burn midisense-adio (from CVS) or v1.3 from site.
BUT: on page i've found olny v1.3hex, no EEP...
fuses...
(0xFF-0xd5-0xFA?)
Its workable method by direct burning midisense-adio firmware?

So, if i want to burn new (empty) mega168 through ISP port on MIDIsense board using my own programmer which files to choose?

Thats my question.
Thanx
