I had the original Mintyboost and I bought 3.0 in hopes that it would solve the accessory not supported but it hasn't. Here is what I've done so far to troubleshoot:
1. The voltages across the power pins is 4.99v
2. Voltages across the data pins is 1.97
3. Tried 2 different types of rechargeable batteries with the last pair being eneloops
4. Tried soldering the D2 - D3 connectors together
5. Don't see a voltage sag when plugged in but its possible the iPhone is not even attempting to charge.
6. Tried plugging in the iPhone when powered down. The Mintyboost powered the device up with no luck.
A few notes: using an OEM Apple cable and I've never had any issues with it. I've tried plugging and unplugging several times and not a single time has worked so its consistently not charging. Anything else I can try? Literally the only reason I bought my 2nd Mintyboost was to charge this device.

Re: Another 3Gs Thread
If you post photos of the front & back of the board we'll take a look for any assembly issues. But it sounds like all your voltages are within spec. It's not clear why the phone is not charging. If you have another cable handy, you should try it. The Apple OEM cables are good quality cables, but they can deteriorate over time.

I've also tested with my kindle and it appears that there is no problem charging that device.
Here are the pictures:

Looks like a good clean build. Together with the voltage measurements and the fact that the Kindle likes it; I would have to say that it is working properly. The only other suggestion I can think of is to try another cable.

Re: Another 3Gs Thread
I'll check into getting another cable and trying it out. I don't have one unfortunately. I'm not sure its the cable though as my cable works plugged into the wall, PCs, and even the USB adapter in my car. I've never had the cable report that it wouldn't charge.

Re: Another 3Gs Thread
Having Similar issue with my 3GS and mintyboosy V3 which i got this week , Power Voltages are 5.05 V and data voltages are 1.98 V. I've tried 2 types of batteries , Alkaline AA and Energizer (NiMH) AA recharables.
Ive also tried 2 different OEM cables .
Tried shorting the data pins .
Keep getting " charging not supported with this accessory"
Iv'e plugged in my friends 4S , that seems to charge just fine.

The 3Gs are some of the most finicky phones with respect to charging. Check to make sure that the voltages on the USB connector don't drop when you connect the phone.

Re: Another 3Gs Thread
Power voltage is stable at 5.05 V ; data voltage drops to about 1.88 V when the 3GS is connected.

Re: Another 3Gs Thread
Is that with the data pins shorted? Shorted pins is the new USB charging standard and generally works with more recent phones. The 3Gs is non-standard and the Apple charger for the 3Gs does not use shorted pins.data voltage drops to about 1.88 V when the 3GS is connected.
