Alternative case melting.

Post by rasqba »

Hi,
I didn't manage to find Altoids in my area, so I decided to use another case. I found one which is really similar to the Altoids tin, but it's plastic, so I wanted to ask if it's ok to use an plastic case, and if the chip won't melt it?

Hope this text is understandable, because English is not my native language.

It depends on the type of plastic. Some can handle more heat than others. The chip does get quite hot when charging a smartphone or similar device.

You can test it with boiling water. If it doesn't deform at 100C, then it is probably OK.
