Mintyboost USB spec needed for iPhone

Post by damian »

I'm a newbie!! Thanks for the mintyboost, it's very useful. I bougth one for my father and one for me just a few weeks ago.

My question is, in the last soldering step I'm supposed to short the usb port pin 2 and 3 (USB spec). Should I do it? My dad's iPhone and mine are working and charging ok. Will they still work if I short those pins? Will I gain anything by doing this?

Thanks for your response!

Greeting from the Galapagos Islands!!

If they are both working, then there is no need to change anything. Not all phones follow the USB spec - (although the situation does seem to be improving with the latest generation of phones)
