Many questions

Post by M4573R »

I bought all the parts to build my own minty, and I'm etching my own circuit board. My questions are:

What are pull up and pull down resistors? What is the deal with R4 and R5?

I dont want the low battery indicator so I can leave out the extra resistors and led, but do I have to keep the connections to ground and positive?

The charger is meant for a a Zen btw.

they are for the data lines and are sometimes necessary.

Just leave the parts out.

I read the part about leaving them out, but do I still connect 4 to 1 on the chip, and 5 to ground and positive?

Also, I'm too inexperienced to know what a pull up and pull down is. Is it a specific way they are installed?
