Humming Sound

Post by coolcat »

This is a weird issue I faced with the minty boost.

On keeping the minty box cover open I can hear a very faint hum sound (when Ipod is charging). On closing the cover, there is a louder hum. Looks like the resonant frequency of the box has matched the frequency of the inductor/circuit.

Has anyone else faced this before? Any suggestions other than to change the tin case to something else.

Thanks.

yup this does happen sometimes, someone posted about it. its the inductor resonating with the converter frequency. not much you can do about it other than damping it with some foam or similar :(

Foam Sticky pad question

Thanks for the prompt reply. I appreciate this.

I was having another question. Where can I purchase the foam sticky pads for fixing the battery case and the PCB to the case?

I checked in Hobby Lobby, Michaels etc and they did not have this.

From where do you purchase this item for packaging with the kits you sell?

Thanks.
