Fried the IC, will this one work?

Post by dalexgray »

Hi, folks! I accidentally fried the IC while assembling my mintyboost. Nothing else seems damaged and I'd like to put in a replacement. Radioshack said they didn't carry the part, but I put LT1302CN8-5 into ebay and found what looks very similar except for a different 4 digits above the part number. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LT1302CN8-LT130 ... 416018228f

Are those 4 digits very important? Does it look like those ICs will work?

In the mintyboost parts list I followed the link to Newark Linear. I couldn't get a shipping estimate without registering an account. Does anyone know what they would charge for shipping a little part like that?

LT1302CN8-5 is the important number. The parts you linked should work.

Just as an aside, for future reference the four digits above the part number is the manufacturer's date code, from when the IC was made. In the image on eBay (9944), this would suggest they were manufactured in 1999, week 44 (which is the last week of October or first week of November I believe).
