Replacing top of Adafruit Tin?

Post by Brennn10 »

Hey gang,

I found an old Altoids Sours Gum Tin in my projects drawer. Unfortunately, the bottom section of the tin has a few holes and cuts in it from when I built an old USB charger (w/ a 5V regulator and 9V battery!). I was wondering if the top portion of the mint tin, sold here by Adafruit, can be replaced with the top portion of the old Altoids Sours Gum tin that I recently found?

Thanks!
Nick

They are very close to the same size, but by different manufacturers, so the fit may not be exact. I don't have a genuine Altoids tin to try it with.

I wanted to return by saying that the original Altoids Chewing Gum tops do in fact, fit on the Mint tins that are sold by Adafruit!

Shameless plug: I am selling an Altoids top on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221329022374?ss ... 1555.l2649
