risk for my device? one sided board

Post by Mopped »

Hello!

First I`ve got a question: Are there any risks by plugin my device?
Could the mintyboost V3 crash my device or the phone battery?

It´s not about my device, it´s about the devices from my students...

The main job for them is to design a functional one sided circuit :D !

I´ve added two pictures of my first attempt. The power inductor is still missing!

Thanks a lot!

Greatings from Germany

There are a few things to consider:
1 - Errors in the circuit or assembly could result in improper voltages on the output which could possibly cause problems for a connected phone. You should test for proper output voltage before connecting anything.
2 - Since this is a tuned circuit, the efficiency can be affected by the PCB layout. In this case, the output voltages may be correct, but it may not achieve the full output current required by the phone. This will not damage the phone, but the phone may not charge.

Thanks for your help!

One thing is certain, that I will control the voltage before plug in! :)

The circiut I draw is just a copy of yours, but only one-sided. Also all the parts are like yours!

Hopefully it will charge...
