External Battery Pack
If I want to use white LED's and a external battery pack, do I simply need to connect the battery pack terminals to J1? Do I need to cut the trace as indicated? Are all three batteries in series?

you dont have to cut the trace, but you should not put in the battery clips either. j1 is right!
