Hall Effect Sensor not so good

Post by skildall »

Hi everyone,

Has anyone else noticed that the hall effect sensor is erratic on the SpokePOVs? I've tried 3 different boards and they all trigger just sometimes and then tend to go into idle mode.

The rare earth magnets at about 1/8" or 1/16" away from the sensor. Tried different bikes, configurations, different riders, same (lack of) effect.

Now thinking about grafting a better sensor onto the board, unless anyone else has some ideas.

Have not heard any reports of this problem. Are you using magnets from Adafruit?

Correct.Have tried many different setups.

I'm surprised there's no other reports since it's clearly a problem over here.
