Bought wrong POV - Trying to program in my own display pics

Post by Reuben »

Hello All..

I Bought 3 POVs on Ebay - Hokey Spokes... then I found the adafruit site and I bought the serial dongle...

If I upload pictures of the POV... can you guys walk me through programming it? I might have to desolder the eeprom on the device.

Is that do-able???

Thanks,

Reuben

Hello...

I'm buying the set of three POVs + dongle and 2 magnets...@ $99 on adafruit... Are these fully programmable? ... its written: 1 configuration... what does it mean?
SuperMegaSpecial!
Get three SpokePOV kits in one color & configuration only, a dongle and 2 magnets for less than $100! Great setup for 1 wheel.
Be sure to read the individual pages about the Kit, Dongle, and Magnet before purchasing,

I have plenty of RED WHITE AND BLUE LEDs... Does the kit come unsoldered? Then I can just order three Yellow ones and change the LEDs...

Oh and I have already obtained a serial dongle... bought from adafruit as well... huh ladyada... do you own adafruit? Is that possible for you to give me a deal : Super Mega kit - dongle... 99-$7.50 = $91.5...

I'm going to lose the shipping I already paid for but I can do this any other way... So please give me this deal... I already bought three wrong blades off Ebay... ...

Waiting for a reply from you...

Thanks and Regards,

Reuben

The kits are unassembled components. they -are- fully programmable tho. the configuration is from back when we sold BMX-sized PCBs separately, basically what i mean is just no mixed colors.
unfortunately the special mega deal is for the bundle only, sorry :(

hmmm.... I didn't quite get you right...

Does the bundle contain full size PCBs?

I need full size PCBs...

Should I buy the bundle... would I get the PCB kit that is sold separately times three?

huh.... lol... the right question is :

Does the bundle contain 3 x the kit( with everything in the kit x 3)...

If I buy the bundle then it would be the same as buying three kits right?

I just wanna make sure since i did buy 3 wrong blades... Don't want to make the same mistake!

Thanks and Regards,

Reuben

If you bought red, green and blue LEDs with diffused lenses, I'm pretty sure you could get white by turning all 3 colors on at the same position.

If you use the clear lenses you pretty much can't mix the colors and your image will be stripey. The clear lenses are obviously brighter but not bright enough to really be noticeable in daylight.

The SpokePOV mounts with cable ties and is fairly simple to install: http://www.ladyada.net/make/spokepov/install.html

Quantity discounts start at 10 units. See the price breaks here: http://www.adafruit.com/products/19
