I have a txb0108 that I want to use with an RPI to interface with a TTL serial device. I have searched the forums and
looked at the dta sheets but I have no confidence in what pins should be used for what. Is there a mapping available
for beginners?

Connect the 3.3v supply from the Pi to VCCA and the TTL Serial supply voltage to VCCB. Connect all the grounds to GND and the rest of the signals connect straight through (a1-B1, A2-B2 etc).
