Hi,
I tried searching around, but I could not find any information about the LED in these massive arcade buttons. I wont to light them bright, but dont want to burn them out. Also, how to tell catode from anode?

Re: Massive Arcade Buttons with LEDs
They have a resistor sized for 12v operation. Lower voltage will be less bright. Higher voltages are possible, but you will need additional resistance to keep the led current at <= 20mA.

Re: Massive Arcade Buttons with LEDs
Does anyone know the diameter of the hole I'd need to drill to mount one of these Massive Arcade buttons?
I want to mount the button by drilling a hole that's able to neatly fit the threaded shaft on the base of the button - immediately above the actual microswitch.
Thanks

Re: Massive Arcade Buttons with LEDs
The diagram on the product page says the shaft is an M24 thread, and Machinery's Handbook says the clearance hole sizes for that are:
- close fit: 25mm
- medium fit: 26mm
- loose fit: 28mm

Thanks very, very much.
I've tried using these forums to ask questions a few times and want to say the support work you do here is fantastic. Makes a big difference.
Much appreciated!

Re: Massive Arcade Buttons with LEDs
In the original post it was asked how you determine cathode from anode, and I don't see that answer. I have one of these and can't figure it out by any markings. And won't it ruin it if I do it backwards?

The connections are not marked. If it doesn't light one way, reverse the leads and you should be OK. It can handle up to 12v. If you don't grossly overpower it, it won't be damaged by the reverse voltage.
