Can the Perma-Proto Breadboard handle 5A?

Post by inevu »

Hey. I would like to know if the Perma-Proto Breadboard PCB (https://www.adafruit.com/products/571) can handle 12V, 5A. I don't think my circuit would be at 5A all the time (it would be mostly in the 3A range) but there would be times in which it would use all 5A. Thank you very much!

It can probably handle it for short periods. Usually when I am working with higher current levels, I'll double up on traces, or solder a wire in parallel with the trace.
