JPEG Camera has artifacts in picture

Post by rbe5000 »

Hi,

I recently ordered the jpeg camera and got it all set up, but it seems to be producing some sort of artifacts on the top and bottom of the image (they look like round circuits pads almost) that distort the snapshots. Please see the attached photo.

Is there some reason this is happening that I am not aware of? This is the default example code from github.

Thanks for your help,
Bob Evans

How does the image look if using much more light, like outdoors during the day?
What you see could be just variations in the pixels and lots of gain.

That's certainly odd.

My first though was that you're seeing Moire patterns, but that doesn't seem right. Could you take a shot of a neutral grey background in medium light please? Something like a piece of cardboard from a cereal box. If you get the same effect there, it could indicate a problem with the sensor.

It does look a lot better in bright daylight.

I will take some pictures tonight against a gray background in bright light and see how that looks. Good idea.
