construction of micro usb power cord for RPi

Post by mglenn12 »

I am constructing RPi data loggers for the field and they need to be battery powered. I purchased the USB shell #1390 and the UBEC converter #1385. Unfortunately I have been unable to find a picture of the usb pin configuration, at least a consistent one. I understand that to make it a dedicated power cable, I tie the 2 data ports together but I cannot determine, which is which. There are 5 pins, 3 on top, 2 on bottom (depending on how you look at it). Can you tell or include an image of the pin configuration? I greatly appreciate it.

Mike
