Adafruit RF Transmitter 1392 help

Post by rescueweasel »

I have a project where I would like to use the 1392 RF transmitter and the momentary receivers. I need a bit more range out of the transmitters. I'm looking for about 100 yards in open air, stock it says 25 feet range. I did not see a location for an antenna connection in the technical specs on the transmitter board. I was wondering if it has one and if I could pull the board out of the case and add an antenna?

I would like to power it with 12 volts, I think it can take that based on the tech specs, on some transmitters increasing the voltage will increase the range. I think this runs off a 3v cell now so wondering if going to 12 volts will make a difference.

Would appreciate some help with anyone who has played with the 1392 transmitter on this one.
