Hello.
I am a complete rookie (as in I know almost nothing) working with electronic components so bear with me.
I need to measure camera orientation and GPS location as it is taking photos. I currently have the GPS datalogger shield and the 10DOF breakout board. The questions I have are: Do I also need an Arduino or can these two components log data to the micro SD without it? If they can, how can I upload necessary scripts? and lastly, How do I connect the two components together to do the logging?
Thanks for your patience and help.

You will need a microcontroller and since you have the GPS shield you might as well get the UNO or, if you need more pins, the Mega.

Thanks for your input.
Is the UNO something that will always need to be attached or is it something I can upload scripts through?

The UNO is what will talk to your devices and pass the data back and forth from them and the SD card It will be part of the final package. If you could explain what it is you are planing to do it would make it easier to recommend a solution.
