Securing GPS antenna

Post by TW79 »

Is there a recommended way to secure the UFL/SMA cable to the Ultimate GPS breakout? It holds steady while in a stationary position, but need a way to ensure it won't detach.

Should I solder the connection?

For a mostly permanent connection I'd use epoxy but why not just mount it to something to protect it?

I'll be using this in harsh environments. While the Raspi and connections will be enclosed, I can't guarantee that the GPS antenna wont' be tugged and pulled. Hence, the need for a more permanent connection.
